Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday set a new milestone by becoming the most followed global leader on social media platform X

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi achieved a significant milestone by amassing over 100 million followers on social media site X, which was previously known as Twitter.

The leader of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed, has 11.2 million followers, US President Joe Biden has 38.1 million, and Pope Francis has 18.5 million. The prime minister is well ahead of these global heavyweights.

PM Modi

A 100 million on the @X! I’m glad to be on this lively platform and value the conversation, debate, ideas, blessings from others, helpful criticism, and much more. Anticipating another fascinating period in the future,” Modi wrote on X.

More people in India follow PM Modi than any other leader. Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, has 27.5 million followers, while Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, has 26.4 million.

PM Modi is well ahead of opposition leaders such as Akhilesh Yadav, the chairman of the Samajwadi Party (19.9 million), Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal (7.4 million), Lalu Prasad, the supremo of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, and Sharad Pawar, the leader of the NCP (SP) (2.9 million).

The international leaders are keen to interact with Modi because of his popularity on X, since doing so increases their own following, interactions, views, and reposts. Italy and Austria saw the extreme popularity of the prime minister.

On X, Prime Minister Modi has a larger following than both Joe Biden and Justin Trudeau of Canada.

Virat Kohli is less popular on X than PM Modi

Not only a politician, Prime Minister Modi has more supporters than world-famous athletes like US basketball player LeBron James (52.9 million), Brazilian football player Neymar Jr. (63.6 million), and cricketer Virat Kohli (64.1 million).

Kim Kardashian (75.2 million), Lady Gaga (83.1 million), and Taylor Swift (95.3 million) are all behind Modi.

Modi’s X handle has had an astounding increase in usage over the past three years—roughly 30 million. He has 91 million Instagram followers in addition to roughly 25 million YouTube subscribers.

The prime minister joined X in 2009 and has engaged constructively on the platform. He communicates with, answers to, and follows a lot of regular people. He has never blocked anyone. PM Modi has never employed bots or sponsored advertisements; instead, he has always used this platform naturally.

The PM has captured the attention of millions of people worldwide with a combination of thought-provoking and captivating postings on X. His ascent in the digital realm highlights his significant influence. It demonstrates his capacity to connect with a broad and lively audience.
