On Tuesday, US President Joe Biden apologized for his “mistake” of saying that he intended to place Donald Trump in the “bull’s-eye” after facing criticism for his use of language that may have sparked the assassination attempt on the former US president.
To discredit Biden and other Democrats, several Trump backers have pointed to the senator’s alleged comments made on a private conference call with donors that it’s “time to put Trump in a bull’s eye.”
In an interview with NBC News, Biden defended his comments by saying, “I didn’t say ‘crosshairs.'” By “bull’s-eye,” I meant I meant to pay attention to him. Pay attention to his actions, policies, and the quantity of lies he spoke throughout the discussion.”
“Pay attention to a wide variety of issues; after all, I’m not the person who said on the first day that he wanted to rule as a dictator or who refused to acknowledge the results of the election. I’m not the one who declared he wouldn’t accept the results of this election out of the blue. It is not enough to love your nation solely on victory. Thus, the notion that he was expressing was the main focus, he said.
JD Vance, Trump’s recently chosen vice presidential running mate, has claimed that Biden was involved in the gunshot that damaged his right ear during the Sunday event in Pennsylvania. In the event, one of the attendees and the suspect perished.
Vance stated, “Today is not just some isolated incident.”
“The fundamental idea of the Biden campaign is that, as an authoritarian fascist, President Trump ought to be stopped at all means. In a post on X, he continued, “That rhetoric directly contributed to President Trump’s attempted assassination.”
Biden called Vance a “Trump clone on the issues” and claimed that “he talks a big game about working people.” However, he and Trump now support further tax breaks for the wealthy while raising taxes on middle-class Americans.”
