Day 19 box office collection for Kalki 2898 AD: Even after three weeks of release, Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin and starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, is still drawing sizable crowds at the box office. On Monday, the 19th day of its release, Kalki performed better than the four days that filmmaker Shankar’s Kamal Haasan-starring Indian 2 had been in theaters. Kalki also made it onto the list of Indian films with the greatest domestic box office earnings ever on Monday.

Industry tracker Sacnilk reports that Kalki made a domestic nett collection of Rs 4.3 crore on July 15, its third Monday in theaters. Indian 2, which was on its fourth day of release in theaters, made just Rs 3.15 crore on the same day, a decrease of more than 79% from its Sunday profits. Even though Kalki’s domestic earnings dropped by 73% from Sunday’s earnings of Rs 16.45 crore, the film still performed well, indicating that it would probably keep up its pace this week.

Kalki’s total domestic nett collection as of Monday’s results is Rs 584.45 crore. It just overtook the Ranbir Kapoor film Animal (Rs 553.87 crore), directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, to claim the fifth position on the list of the most-grossing Indian films domestically. Even if its current goal is to overtake filmmaker Atlee’s Jawan (Rs 640.25 crore), starring Shah Rukh Khan, this seems like too much of a difference. Since its release in 2017, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Rs 1030.42 crore) has remained the highest-rated film on this list.

The Telugu original version of Kalki brought in Rs 1.35 crore, whilst the Hindi remake earned Rs 2.5 crore on Monday. Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam versions of the movie brought in Rs. 15 lakh, Rs. 25 lakh, and Rs. 5 lakh, respectively. The film’s makers, Vyjayanthi Films, declared on Saturday that the picture has crossed the Rs 1,000 crore barrier globally, making it the seventh Indian film to do so.

In the Telugu market, the 2D version of the film had an overall occupancy rate of 19.38% on Monday. The occupancy rate for the morning performances was 15.01 percent at first, rising to 20.41 percent in the afternoon and reaching a peak of 22.71 percent in the evening. Simultaneously, the 3D version of the property registered an overall occupancy percentage of 18.34%.

In addition to Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan play significant parts in Kalki. Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express reviewed the film, saying, “Amitabh Bachchan is the real star of Kalki; his Ashwatthama is appropriately gritty and dominates the whole picture, even if Prabhas is the main character. Although he appears infrequently, Kamal Haasan makes an impression. The movie’s sequel is currently being developed.
